Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 3

Episode 12The Nutsch Family

On August 9th 2005 everything the Nutsch Family held near and dear to them literally exploded. A propane leak caused a blast that completely leveled their three bedroom bungalow and family business - an auto repair and salvage shop.

Thankfully, Kevin, Cathy and their five daughters were not home. They were vacationing in Branson, Missouri when they received the shocking phone call from a friend informing them of what had happened. The family then embarked on the six-hour drive ’’home’’ in a state of confusion and fear of the unknown. Nothing could have prepared them for what they were about to see. Their beloved home and only source of income was gone. All that was left were little splinters of wood and seventeen years of memories strewn across hundreds of square feet of land.

Both the master bathroom and kitchen were redesigned using KraftMaid’s popular Square solid raised panel door style. While the master bath was finished in Chocolate Glaze with Satin Nickel door pulls, the kitchen was completed in the darker Kaffe, accented with satin nickel tapered bow pulls. Cascade style glass inserts are also featured in the Nutsch Family kitchen.

Wedgewood Glaze finished solid recessed panel cabinets were installed in the laundry room, providing ample storage space. And finally, the loft desk was made using KraftMaid cabinets with an Amber Glaze finish.
