Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Episode 20The Holmes Family
In 1999, after 15 years of drug addiction, Sadie Holmes finally hit rock bottom. In that moment she knew she had to change: She got clean and sober and turned her life around completely. Seeing this, Sadie’s community reached out to her and began to donate food, clothing and furniture, helping her to make a brand new start.
When it got to be more than her family needed, Sadie started funneling the donations to others in need. This lead to Sadie creating to the first non-profit in their community, Sadie Holmes Help Services, Inc. Through her non-profit and her personal experience, Sadie has been serving her community for 5 years and has already helped hundreds of people.
Sadie continues to run the non-profit out of her home and manages to rent a separate space for her family. Her goal is to build a halfway house for recovering drug addicts so they don’t have to go back to the streets.
In this episode of EMHE, one woman who had the strength to turn her life around and then use her experiences to serve her community will finally get the space she deserves for her non-profit AND her family!
Both the kitchen and the breakfast nook of Sadie’s new home were styled in Kraftmaid’s own maple square solid raised panel door style finished in the soft Bisque Glaze with Blonde antique drawer pulls. Her sons’ new bathroom took on a different look with the cool tones of pewter Glaze finshed cabinets in KraftMaid’s popular beaded solid raised style.
Sadie’s master bathroom and wet bar areas were outfitted in Square veneer raised panel door styles finished in a Chestnut color completed with Satin Nickel pulls.
