Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 3

Episode 23The Py Family

William and Carole Py had raised their children and were planning for retirement. They never expected they would have to do it all over again.

In July of 1997, their son-in-law passed away from a brain aneurysm, leaving behind their daughter Sandra and three very little children. The following year, Sandra, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer, passed away leaving her children in the custody of her parents.

The Pys have embraced Will, Samantha and Joey with open arms and are doing their best to give them a great life. Unfortunately, they never planned for the financial burdens of raising a second family and their home is now taking the brunt of that. More of a concern to them now is the fact that their house is full of asbestos and lead. In this episode of ’’Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’’, the Py’s are given a safe new home to raise these children in, erasing their worries and allowing them time to just enjoy their grandchildren, as grandparents should.

The Py’s kitchen was remodeled using KraftMaid’s veneer recessed door style cabinetry finished in Ginger with Sable Glaze with Antiquity glass inserts. The grandkid’s bathroom was also completed with Sedona cabinetry in the creamy Cashmere Glaze color with stainless steel bar pulls.

The new home office was styled with maple solid raised cabinetry in Oatmeal Glaze finished off with brushed pewter knobs and Cascade glass inserts on the doors. The loft area is equipped with Huntington cabinets finished in the cool Frost Glaze with satin chrome pulls.
