Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
Episode 12The Noyola Family
After overcoming a troubled past over-shadowed with drug addiction, Geno Noyola, a union carpenter now nine years clean, has beat the odds. For the past eight years, Geno, his wife and their six children have been living in Grandma Blasa’s attic apartment. The Noyolas and Grandma Blasa have been dreaming of moving the children out of the tiny, tattered roach infested attic apartment and into a bigger, safer home.
After several failed attempts, Geno and Melinda finally became homeowners Ð purchasing a home just a block away from Grandma’s apartment. Now several months later, the Noyolas are no closer to moving into their home because of severe problems uncovered after its purchase. The plumbing, structural decay, water damage, rodent infestation and chipping lead paint are just a few of the problems. The Extreme team travels to Chicago to help this family make their new home a dream home.
The family’s new kitchen was designed using KraftMaid’s custom Venicia line of cabinetry. The deep blue hues of the Oceana Glass finish are reflected in the high-sheen of this sleek, modern cabinet style. Aluminum Round Bar pulls complete the look.
The laundry room, hallway and entertainment center cabinetry were all constructed with KraftMaid’s maple cabinetry in the warm Cashmere Glaze finish. Stainless Steel Bar pulls adorned all the cabinetry, while the entertainment center’s doors were accented by Silver Screen glass inserts.
