Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 4

Episode 15The O’Donnell Family

Patrick and Jeanette O’Donnell have six children. Five of them have autism. Patrick works two jobs to provide for this family of eight. Jeanette is a full-time mom and volunteers as a teacher’s aid.

Having five autistic children has caused extreme wear and tear on the home. Adding to their stress, the mortgage company is threatening to foreclose on their home in 30 days. With the help of Extreme Makeover Home Edition, the O’Donnell family will get the needed security, serenity, and sensory design to help their children develop their own sense of expression and purpose.

The O’Donnell’s new kitchen was fashioned with custom KraftMaid cherry wood cabinetry in the deep brown Kaffe finish. Layered glass inserts in the Metallica style adorn the doors and Satin Nickel Bow drawer pulls complete the look. The caramel colored Toffee cabinets in the laundry room are accented by one of KraftMaid’s line of decorative hardware, with Aged Bronze knobs and pulls.

This large family is no longer short on bathrooms, and these four new rooms have each been outfitted with KraftMaid cabinets. The first two were designed with maple wood selections. The Ginger Glaze finish was chosen for the first with Satin Nickel Tapered Bow pulls and the warm beige of Cashmere Glaze with Venetian Bronze hardware completes the second.

The remaining bathrooms share a darker look with cherry wood KraftMaid cabinets stained in Peppercorn and Aluminum Half Round Bar pulls in the third bath. Finally the master bathroom was furnished with maple cabinetry, finished in the rich brown of Cognac and accented with Aluminum Round decorative hardware.
