Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 4

Episode 18The Wilson Family

Natalie Wilson is a hard-working woman who thoroughly enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren. When her daughter abandoned her children on Natalie’s doorstep, she took on the role of mother as well as grandmother.

Although this is the most stable home these four children have ever lived in, it is still a trailer that is being held together by duct tape. The trailer is extremely small, has a sagging roof, bad wiring and little to no insulation. In this episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the design team travels to South Carolina to make this Grandmother’s dream come true.

The Wilson’s new home was completely outfitted with custom KraftMaid cabinetry in a variety of styles. The kitchen and study were designed with maple cabinets in the off-white Taupe Glaze finish. Mullion wood frames and Bistro glass inserts accent the doors, while the look is all pulled together with KraftMaid’s Aged Bronze line of decorative hardware.

The laundry room cabinets are easily accessed with Aged Pewter Beaded knobs and pulls, which attractively accent the Hazelnut Glaze finish of the maple wood work. The two bathrooms completed with the KraftMaid line show the variety that is offered along with quality craftsmanship. Wedgewood Glaze was chosen to stain the maple cabinets in the first bathroom, with the delicate Scrolled Glass knobs and pulls highlighting the cool blue tones of this room. The second bath was constructed of hearty birch wood cabinetry in the creamy Bisque Glaze finish and completed with Stainless Steel Bar knobs and pulls.
