Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 4

Episode 2The Gilliam Family

Maryann Gilliam’s husband David was a firefighter and EMT that passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve. She was left with six children in a tiny two-bedroom house that is in major disrepair. Since David’s death, Maryann has learned that the basement of their home is contaminated with dangerous levels of toxic spores. After seeing the analysis of the basement as well as David’s autopsy report, the Gilliam’s doctor has theorized these toxins were responsible for David’s death. In this episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition, the team rebuilds a home for a grieving family and gives this single mother peace of mind that her children will not suffer the same fate that took her husband.

The Gilliam’s new home was completed with custom KraftMaid cabinetry in many of the rooms. The kitchen and breakfast nook areas were designed with maple wood cabinetry in KraftMaid’s Bisque Glaze finish and accented with the Venetian Bronze line of hardware and Cascade glass inserts on the doors.

The laundry room sports a rustic look with Honey Spice finished cherry wood cabinets with individual character marks that give each door a unique appearance. Warm tones abound in the new master bathroom with Kraftmaid’s rich brown Kaffe finished cabinets, a cherry wood accented by Satin Silver drawer pulls. Pewter Glaze gives the powder room a cool tone with Brushed Nickel oval knobs completing the look.

Moving to the upstairs of the home, KraftMaid’s neutral Frost Glaze finish adorns the maple cabinetry in the hallway providing much needed storage in this area. Which leads to the shared bathroom, equipped with clean and bright white thermofoil cabinetry and Brushed Pewter knobs and drawer pulls.
