Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 4

Episode 22The Kilgallon Family

Marynoel Kilgallon was married for 14 years. After years of emotional abuse she decided that she needed to get out of the marriage and provide her four boys a more loving environment. After the divorce settlement and what little money Marynoel had saved she bought a ’’fixer-upper,’’ only to later find out that it had termite damage so extensive that it was unsafe to even be inside.

For over a year, the Kilgallons have been living in the dining room of her parents’ one bedroom townhouse. She is paying a mortgage of $1900, insurance, water and power for a house that sits empty. In this episode, Extreme Makeover Home Edition travels to Pennsylvania to create a new house that the Kilgallons can finally call home.

The Kilgallons’ new home was outfitted with KraftMaid custom cabinetry throughout most of their new space. In the kitchen and the first bathroom, Tivoli style cabinet doors were chosen from KraftMaidÕs Venicia product line. The sleek, striking look of these cabinets were finished in Onyx Gloss in the bathroom, accented by Aluminum Round Bar pulls, while the Graphite Satin finish was used in the kitchen highlighted by Satina glass inserts.

KraftMaid’s classic White Thermofoil was used to supply the laundry room with extra storage space, with White Ceramic knobs to complete the look. The second bath was designed in maple cabinetry finished in the soft, neutral Cashmere Glaze. Finally, Marynoel’s master bath was given a warm makeover with the deep brown of KraftMaid’s Kaffe finish with Satin Nickel Bow pulls tying it all together.
