Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 4

Episode 8The Koepke Family

On April 10th of this year, Matt Koepke was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. By the time of diagnosis, the cancer had already spread from under his left arm to his brain. At the age of 41, his prognosis is not good. If Matt responds well to treatment, he is expected to live another five years. His plans to renovate his home, see his engaged daughter get married and finish the renovations on the town Mill suddenly seem unattainable.

The Koepke home was built by Matt’s great-grandfather. Originally, the home had no electric wiring, no plumbing, no bathroom and no central heat. Recently Matt has tried to make some home repairs but due to his state of health, he can’t continue. There are so many necessary repairs that the Koepke’s have been at a loss as to where to begin. In this episode the Extreme Team travels to Wisconsin to restore the comforts of home to this deserving family.

The Koepke’s new kitchen boasts the deep red tones of KraftMaid’s Garnet Glaze finish on maple wood cabinetry with Cascade glass inserts accenting the doors. The kitchen’s island adds even more cabinet space with the warm beige of Cashmere Glaze highlighting the cherry wood and completed with Matte Nickel Suitcase pulls.

The loft kitchen is also outfitted with custom KraftMaid maple wood cabinets in the creamy off-white Bisque Glaze with Aluminum Round Bar pulls. While the bathroom shines in Pewter Glaze finished maple cabinets and Brushed Nickel Oval door knobs.
