Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 5

Episode 15The Voisine Family

In May 2006, Reynald and Casey Voisine’s home in Manchester, New Hampshire was destroyed in a flood. Within a few days, the Governor had declared a state of emergency, FEMA had been dispatched and assessments were being made of the damage. The family was told that their house was a total loss, that they should demolish it and apply for a loan to rebuild. Despite being told by FEMA that they would qualify, the family was denied a loan. The family is currently renting an apartment right next door to their now vacant lot. While FEMA has provided some rental assistance, it is about to run out. In this episode of Extreme Makeover, the team travels to New Hampshire to rebuild a home for this family of six that lost everything in this natural disaster.

The Voisine’s new home was built with Venicia cabinetry by KraftMaid in many rooms. Starting in the kitchen, where the Capri door style was chosen and stained in Tiber Cherry Satin, accented with Silk glass inserts and completed with Aluminum Round Bar pulls. This door style was also selected for a bathroom, where the dark sheen of Onyx Gloss was used along with Stainless Steel door pulls.

The crisp white of Bianco Satin was the finish of choice for both the laundry room and hall bathroom. Door styles were selected from the Lustra collection of Venicia, known for its smooth, elegant materials. Senza doors from the Mirra collection were used to design the new master bathroom. This cabinetry, which uses a radiant, highly reflective material was finished in Sterling Gloss and accented with Aluminum hardware.
