Season 5

Episode 18The Lucas Family

Before his deployment to Iraq, Michael Lucas had spent the greater part of his life assisting in the preservation of Virginia’s historical battlefields and landmarks. In addition to being a part of local preservation efforts, Michael has collected historical artifacts from the area, many he uncovered himself.

This past year, Michael and his family purchased a piece of land located on one of the most famous battles fought during the Civil War Ð The Battle of High Ridge. It is here on this property that he started to build his family a home. Unfortunately, before he could finish he was deployed oversees to Iraq.

What Michael has started is beginning to crumble. As he worries about his family not having the home he promised he’d build for them, Michael’s wife, Jean and their children worry about their father losing focus on his task at hand to protect his country and protect himself.

In this episode, the Extreme Team works to build the Lucas family a safe home and provide Michael with a place to continue to preserve the culture of Virginia that he loves so much.

The family’s new home was designed with custom-built KraftMaid cabinetry in many rooms. The kitchen was outfitted with maple cabinets finished in the creamy Bisque Glaze and completed with Matte Satin Suitcase pulls. The laundry room, crafted from KraftMaid’s cherry wood selection, provides ample storage with deep brown Kaffe-stained cabinets.

Michael and Jean’s master bathroom reflects the bright, clean look of the White Thermofoil cabinets chosen for this room. Satin Silver knobs accent the doors and drawers of the couple’s new bath. The hall bathroom was completed with Natural finished maple cabinets, with Maple Weave inserts and Brushed Pewter hardware pulling it all together.
