Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 5

Episode 19The Turner Family

The Turner Family is your modern day Brady Bunch. When they married, Angie and her kids, Theresa, Tyron and Desmond opened up not only their hearts but also their home to Richard, his daughter Layton and Richard’s 13 year-old cousin, Michael.

Now, as a blended family, the Turner’s are on fire in their community as they act as positive role models for the youth dedicating their lives to not only their children, but also the at risk children in the community. In addition to their volunteer efforts with the kids in their community, Angie and Richard also serve as care takers for mentally challenged adults helping to teach them to become independent.

While the Turner’s are hard at work in their community, their 600 square foot home is simply rotting away around them and keeping them from providing a better life for their kids. In this episode of EMHE, the Design Team heads off to Fairmont, West Virginia to build a new home and return the gift of giving to help a family who gives so much of themselves.

The Turner’s new home was completed with KraftMaid cabinetry in many rooms, beginning in the kitchen, with maple wood stained in Oatmeal Glaze. These cabinets were accented with Bistro glass door inserts and Oil Rubbed Bronze hardware. The laundry room was also outfitted with new cabinets, crafted from hickory wood, and finished in Kaffe with Brushed Pewter knobs and pulls.

The Turner’s new master bath was designed with White Thermofoil cabinetry and accented by Satin Nickel Football knobs. Finally in the boys’ new bathroom, KraftMaid’s Venicia cabinetry was chosen, using the Capri door style. Tygris Gloss was the finish used on these cabinets from the Lustra collection, with Stainless Steel Bar pulls completing the room.
