Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

It all began with a television producer’s phone call asking KraftMaid to help a deserving family in need of a fresh start. Seasons later, we are proud to remain the exclusive cabinetry provider of ABC’s award-winning program, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Season 5

Episode 3The Brown Family

Mrs. Brown always wanted better for her children, her community and herself. Because of her great strength she pulled her family out of the Terrace Circle projects and was finally able to buy a fixer upper and become a proud homeowner in Bridgeport Connecticut.

Then tragedy hit - first, a flood devastated their home. Then, it was destroyed by a fire. And then their home was repeatedly robbed and stripped of everything that was left.

It’s been almost a year since the Brown’s lost their home to a fire and if repairs aren’t made to the home they are at risk of being fined heavily from the city and ultimately losing their home.

In this episode of EMHE the design team heads to Bridgeport to give this deserving family the home of their dreams.

The Brown family’s new home was custom built with KraftMaid cabinetry in many rooms, starting in the kitchen. A Buttercream stain was used on the new maple cabinets accented by Matte Nickel Suitcase pulls. In both the mudroom and the master bathroom, Bistro style glass inserts were used to highlight the creamy Bisque Glaze finished cabinets.

In two additional bathrooms KraftMaid’s Nutmeg Glaze was chosen with Aluminum Round Bar pulls and Scrolled Glass Round knobs completing the look. In yet another bathroom, cherry wood cabinets were installed in the rich, dark Peppercorn stain, enhanced with Satin Nickel Bow pulls.
