Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

When their father passed away suddenly after suffering a heart attack, the four Anders children relied on Rochelle, who tried her best to make repairs on their crumbling home. After battling this past Wisconsin winter with only a wood furnace to heat the home, Rochelle had to send the kids to live with relatives.

Aside from not having a proper furnace, the Anders’ home is in severe disrepair inside and out. The roof is peeling apart, the wood siding is crumbling and critters of every kind have started nesting in walls of the home. Inside the house, holes are evident in the ceilings and water damage has stained the walls. Because of the condition of her home, Rochelle Anders is embarrassed and devastated at the thought that her kids may need to take permanent residence elsewhere.

In this episode, the Extreme Team heads north to Wisconsin, to build a suitable home for a dedicated mother and teacher so that she can keep her family safe and happy under one roof.

KraftMaid cabinetry was chosen for several rooms in the Anders’ new home, including the kitchen, where maple cabinets were installed in the Willow finish. This soft, light green painted finish was accented by Aluminum Integrated Angled pulls and Pearlescence glass door inserts.

The dark brown Peppercorn stain was selected for the cherry wood cabinetry in the laundry room, with Cherry Weave door inserts and Brushed Pewter hardware pulling it all together. Finally, a window seat was crafted using KraftMaid’s rustic birch wood, finished in the reddish-brown Cinnamon and highlighted with Aluminum drawer pulls.
