Nate Berkus and KraftMaid Make A Couple’s Kitchen Dreams Come True

Nate Berkus and KraftMaid Make A Couple’s Kitchen Dreams Come True

On November 1, celebrity designer Nate Berkus revealed one of his most dramatic kitchen makeovers to date during The Nate Berkus Show.  In the episode, Berkus and his team surprised viewers Richard and Carol of New Jersey with the kitchen of their dreams.

The couple, known for their generosity within their community, was nominated for the makeover surprise by a close friend.  Carol volunteers her time for an organization that helps unwed mothers during difficult times and often opens her home to help them.  Richard is the head chef at the Knights of Columbus, where he also runs the catering hall.  During the holidays, he delivers meals to those in need.

Over the years, Richard and Carol had saved for a kitchen remodel six times, but each time the family donated the money to a friend or family member instead.  After 23 years, their kitchen remained almost the same since the day they moved in.

With their passion for cooking and entertaining, the surprise remodel was a dream come true.  The remodeled kitchen features KraftMaid’s Hartwell Maple Square in Sage with Cocoa Glaze with Geometric knobs and pulls.  Carol’s favorite piece in her new kitchen is the island, featuring a storage space for the microwave, which saves precious counter space.
