KraftMaid CoreGuard Sink Base Named a “TOH Top 100” Product by This Old House Magazine

Posted by KraftMaid on 19th Nov 2012

KraftMaid Cabinetry is pleased to announce its innovative CoreGuard Sink Base has been named a “TOH Top 100” product by This Old House magazine for 2012. Each year, This Old House celebrates the 100 best new home products its editors believe will make a difference in the lives of their readers by saving them time and money, and making home improvement easier—all of which the CoreGuard sink base delivers on.

KraftMaid Cabinetry introduced the CoreGuard sink base to help address issues such as minor spills and plumbing leaks that commonly happen under the sink and can result in permanent damage. With the exception of the cabinet’s face frame and door assembly, all the wood and wood-based materials typically used in the cabinet construction have been replaced with an engineered polymer. This helps safeguard cabinets against damage and helps protect the kitchen investment.

“We’re thrilled that the CoreGuard cabinet has been recognized as a ‘TOH Top 100’ product,” said Gabe Peterson, senior manager of marketing communications, KraftMaid Cabinetry. “We know homeowners take great pride in keeping their home in top shape and we are proud to offer a solution like the CoreGuard sink base so their cabinetry will stay beautiful inside and out.”

Key features of the CoreGuard sink base cabinet:

  • Helps protect against damage from liquids.
  • Non-absorbent, engineered polymer makes it easy to clean and maintain.
  • The floor has a rib design and a slight forward tilt so minor spills or leaks move to the front of the cabinet, making it easier to detect problems and keep stored items dry.
  • The cabinet is designed to be long lasting and requires minimal maintenance.
  • This innovation meets or exceeds all Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer Association (KCMA) standards.

The CoreGuard sink base is available in 30", 33" and 36" widths, and can be purchased through authorized dealers, Lowe’s and The Home Depot.

The “TOH Top 100” products are featured in the November/December issue of This Old House on newsstands now.
